On Mission: In the Dominican Republic

Will you go?
The next mission trip to the Dominican Republic is quickly approaching. Each spring a team is sent out to the Dominican Republic from Greenville Grace on a short-term mission trip to provide basic medical and dental care to the people of the Dominican Republic and ultimately proclaim the saving gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. This is done in partnership with SCORE International, a ministry serving those with a heart for short-term missions.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:19-20
While the work of this trip is to provide basic medical care, the mission is certainly the proclamation of the gospel. Medical personnel must be a part of this team, however, it is not at all a requirement for someone to go. In fact many people go from all backgrounds, all ages, and God can and will use anyone willing to serve. In addition to a medical/dental team, we will also be taking a construction team with us to serve the local churches and the SCORE complex in the Juan Dolio area so anyone with a construction background would be beneficial.
If you’ve been to the Dominican Republic with us before, or other short-term mission trips, you know the impact that it has on those you go to serve… as well as those who go to serve. If you haven’t, why not make this year the year? We would love to have you with us!
Ways to Participate:
- Pray! – Pray for those that the team will be ministering to, pray that God would open hearts and minds to His gospel. Pray that God would build the team that he desires and those He is calling to go, would respond. If you are feeling called to go, pray about it. Ask others to pray with you.
- Support – Not able to go yourself? There is always a need financially for those going and especially for needed medical supplies to take to the DR.
- Go! – Join us. Take a trip that will change your life and the life of those you have the opportunity to serve. It is amazing that God would allow us to serve in the proclamation of His gospel.
