Men’s Ministries

As we look at scripture, it is clear that men are to be the leaders in their homes, and in the church.  How did Christ ultimately show His love for the church?  He died to create it.  Paul tells us this is the way we ought to love our wives; sacrificially.

“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her.” – Ephesians 5:25

Fathers are specifically to be held responsible for their children’s spiritual training.  This is also reiterated in the qualifications for deacons and elders in 1 Timothy 3:4,12.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4

It is our prayer that we would present all men complete in Christ (Col. 1:28-29).  We realize that this is not something that just happens.  It takes work and effort which comes only by the grace of God.  It is our desire to help equip the men of Greenville Grace to be better fathers, husbands, employees and church leaders.

“…I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or quarreling.” – 1 Timothy 2:8.

To equip the men at Grace, Men’s Ministries provides various studies throughout the year.  Our ongoing study courses are Men’s Training and The EDGE (more information below).  In addition to these two courses, other training studies have been offered in the past, such as: Elder Leadership, Sermoneutics (study of the why, how and what of preaching).

Men’s Training:

Men’s Training meets every other Monday evening at 7:00-8:00 p.m (see calendar for schedule).  Our hope is to instill in our men a deep-rooted love for the truth of the gospel and sound doctrine so that we in turn can instill this in our families, wives and co-workers.

So far in Men’s Training, we’ve studied the Books of Romans, 1 Timothy and Titus.  Currently we are working through the various aspects of theology and why theology matters.  Plan on joining us for our next Men’s Training, we would love to have you.

The EDGE:

The EDGE meets the first Saturday of every month for breakfast and a time of fellowship and study together.  As with Men’s Training our goal is to dig deeper into the gospel and look at how it impacts our lives today.  Typically we meet at the church for a time of teaching and discussion but may also take in events/outings away from the church such as father/son campouts, conferences or maybe a ball game (see calendar for schedule).  We would love to see you at the next EDGE .
