2009 Report
Just like you wouldn't run a marathon without proper training or utilizing the refreshment stations along the course... we don't expect you to maintain your walk with the Lord without some training and refreshment. LIFE Groups are one vital portion of consistent, effective training in righteousness through systematic study of the Word in and environment that creates one-on-one accountability that the scriptures call us to. About 180 of you have been meeting in 16 homes across the valley and judging by your feedback, God has been faithful to bless your time together through strengthened faith, deeper accountability and renewed hunger for the Word. God has surely honored your discipline and faithful attendance and participation.
VISION for 2010: We have started our marathon (some would call it a crawl) through the book of Matthew where we will be spending a considerable amount of time (at least this year). The study is entitled 'Christ Reigns Over...' due to the desire that Matthew has for his audience to see Christ as King over all aspects of our lives and His world. If you are not currently a part of a LIFE Group and would like to see the Kingly role of Christ in more detail, contact Marshall Gipe at marshall@thegipes.com or 937.832.1991 and he will get you plugged in.
SPECIFIC PRAYER REQUESTS: Groups are still large! Our attendance of late has increased and we will see a need for groups to multiply to make room for the new faces we are seeing each week. Please pray for discernment in multiplication of groups, identification of leaders and a willingness of all participants to break some of the personal bonds we now have to allow the Lord to create new ones. Pray for us all to see Christ in the book of Matthew and Him revealed as not just a king but the King over all aspects of our lives. Pray for Danny as he lends himself to the Spirit each week to bring us the Word...and that his sharing the Word would be an overflow of what it has already worked in his heart...and that to the praise of the glory of His grace!
