Wayne & Ellen Patton Family Missionaries to Brazil
Wayne and Ellen Patton are missionaries with GBIM who are living in Belém, Brazil. Their family was deployed to Belém in December of 2003 with their four children; Jacob, Lydia, Caleb and Josiah.
The Pattons consider their home church to be Centerville GBC located near Dayton, Ohio. They sold their home and packed their bags to serve as full time missionaries. They are living in the city of Belém, which is a port city on the mouth of the Amazon River. Their ministry reaches into the Amazon interior cities.
As their ministry is leading deeper into the Amazon, many of the people who live in this region do not read, so we must develop new methods of reaching them for Christ. Eleven days were spent at the Wycliff Training venter for a workshop on cross cultural bible story crafting. A new vision for training volunteers to reach the 30 to 50 thousand communities that are still without the Gospel has been established. Pray with us as we seek to reach deeper into the Amazon river region with the simple Gospel message that they can grasp.
